People get p*****off when you fix their disabilty

We had a patient who came in with a multitrauma who had wrecked their car and injured those in another car. The patient had taken too much oxycontin for her fibro. (Patients will always be too disabled to work but they will always be able to drive). Anyway, she was blitzed on narcotics. It wasnt her oxycontin but that is another story. While she was in the hospital she had problems tolerating her tube feeds and after alot of testing it turns out she has a gluten sensitivity. When she was told that she didnt have fibro and all she had to do was follow a different diet all she said was "I still get my disabilty checks right?"

Ugh!She should be ashamed ..oh and I think she is crazy because she should be OVERJOYED that she will be pain free and even more important ..she'll be HEALTHY! ..or healthier.

She was given a gift and didn't see it. Too bad.

You know ..it used to be that we only had to worry about drunk or stupid drivers .. or illegal drugged up drivers ..but now ..it seems so many people are under the influence of anti-depressants, narcotics and cell phones too.

She was given a gift.

That's fucking hilarious. Whoever was taking care of her is medically incompetent: narcotics are contraindicated in fibro, being more active is the treatment so disability is contraindicated in fibro, ruling out all underling illnesses of which celiac is top on the list is required before making the diagnosis of fibro. That doc needs demoted to NP status.
