I had one of the early cases this morning in the OR and even before I got there the surgeons' lounge was full of discord! All I could hear was that "he pandered to the muslims, he pandered to the hispanics, he pandered to the abortionists." I looked to see who it was and was supprised at it was one of our more quiet surgeons. I asked him to expound further which was like turning of a fire hydrant! He said, "look, he's the pander bear. He is half white and half black so he can pander to both. He tells people he is Christian, and then he is a Muslim so he can pander to both." "He gets up there and talks and says nothing but people think he is cute and ignore the fact that he is clueless and destroying the country." "It is like the Panda's at the Zoo, oh, how cute!"Except, this Pander Bear is running the Zoo!"

Isn't he just soooo CUTE! :) The panda bear... I just LOVE them.
Your colleague is right.
I suppose the positive is that he is in a unique position to do so... and possibly have an edge on effecting positive changes/cooperation..but what I don't like is that I feel he was disingenuous for the purpose of getting elected..but then they all may be. The thing is... I am concerned about his *possible* radical leanings... oh wait..he is..look how much change we have in this country we have in just 6 months. doesn't even feel like the America I grew up on. Unbelievable!
I also heard that they want the health care system revised this summer.
But..I am especially concerned about his handling of the Israeli/Palestinian issues and allowing Iran to go with nuclear energy. I am concerned he might *pander* too much to the Arabs.
And I am real concerned what they are going to do with health care this summer.
Logically...with all these other things going on..IS this the time to move on health care?
I also HATE the idea of being forced into driving less safe cars for the sake of saving fuel... as they all fly around in their private jets, ETC...
I will never forget one night when a girl was brought into the ER who had crashed into a tree with a Ford Escort. They said her car crumbled like an accordion. And I will never forget the look on the respiratory therapist's face when he told me when he went to bag her her face just crumbled down..her bones were completely broken.(not his words) She died. And I know people die in larger vehicles... but I think stats prove survival rate is higher in weightier vehicles.
